you guys are so funnyyyyyy, i hope i never become "normal" and not "disgusting" so that i can keep upsetting people by shipping controversial ships, because really, what am i doing other than existing? worst case scenario youre right, and i do have personal issues and i am working through it/comforting myself through fiction, right? what is so wrong with that? I havent hurt and wont hurt a damn soul by shipping "weird" fictional couples.

The big yuri season with the big famous opposites-attract two-sides-of-the-same-coin pairing, it also started Precure's whole glorious bit of being magical girls who fight with full hand to hand combat and stick to walls like spiderman. Cards will never stop haunting me; the henshin devices are flip phones that accept swipeable cards, and also contain cellphone greachers.

Recommended by my friend, this precure is a space road trip (something i fucking love so much) with alien precures, musical transformations, a Lisa Frank aesthetic, and a mix of scifi elements in with the magical girl standard that defines Pretty Cure! Space magical girls, what's better than that? The other themes are astrology and imagination, potentially toqger-style, and the henshin device is a colored pen.

Recommended to me by the tokusatsu server (though they insisted on Futari Wa) as a good starter precure, Mahoutsukai Precure is about two witches and a Hobbesian teddy bear (that is also a henshin device!) and a fairy fighting dark magicians and hopping between a mundane world and a magical world. Also the opening seems to be referencing the same song meter as Catarina Claes's anime??? What's the reference. Hm.

My friend's second recommendation, this one has excellent character dynamics and a consisently increasing scale of quality plus a funny mermaid and a mascot that is literally just a normal seal. It seems to have more commitment to the Makeup Bit:tm: than other precures, its core theme is motivation, and the henshin device is a mirror compact.

As much as I doubt Toei gonna have any immediate plans to make any new Geats vcines rn, should they consider making any Tycoon-centric stuff--heck, it doesn't even need to be Toei but any other drama or movie productions making any projects featuring Ryuga--I hope they consider casting the same boy that play younger Kazuhito as Ryuga's younger counterpart.

#im sorry but i literally never found him to be abrasive bc yes an archmage and chosen of mystra and wizard and the designated Lore Dumper#is going to be more knowledgeable than you and that's fine LMAO#and him knowing abt the tadpoles isn't him being an arrogant know it all it's just him letting the character know what's at stake#and also the others given that some of them don't know that or feel pressured to act (see: astarion and wyll)#and re the sorc vs wizard stuff.. again... someone that has to go to school and study the art Is going to#be more learned and well read than someone that doesn't#someone that was an archmage and lover to magic itself and a child prodigy etc etc IS going to#know more like . cope#i just never found him to be horrible or as annoying as people say bc i don't take offense to confidence or prowess or info dumpers?#early access is a different beast. but official release gale? the guy who shares crazy life stories every time? and is trying#to bond with your character every chance he gets? and who doesn't admonish your character if you fail to channel#the weave and instead is a good enthusiastic teacher to your character? who has a reasonable reaction to your character#not taking him seriously and is super appreciative when they do? like. maybe im on an island all by myself here, but i am actually exhausted with real life ethics and morals having to be factored into shows and movies lest the creators get bitched out by woke viewers. ill grant you that there is an argument to be made about how much immorality in media affects people in real life, especially among kids, but that is an issue for the parents, not the rest of us. let people create the art they want for gods sake, do you want everything to be black and white, good vs evil, never straying outside of the bounds of ethics, for the rest of your lives? i will always champion creatives that push every envelope and make what speaks to them personally, because jesus, thats what i thought all of this was about, youre not really a fan of the arts if you want to put restrictions on what others can say and do through their creative projects

Also, I’m so intrigued by the tidbits we got about Janine in this ep. Between the counselor recommending therapy for her + Barb/Mel joking about her oversharing, there’s definitely a consciousness that Janine’s familial and personal issues are at the forefront of the writers’ minds in a big way.
